Departing from your accommodation in Wooli (a short drive from Coffs Harbour Airport) & World Heritage Gibraltar Range, visit some of the most wildlife rich places in Australia, including Gibraltar Reserve at the foot of Gibraltar Range, and support a conservation effort whilst enjoying the birds and wildlife.
Experiencing the wildlife & birds of the Northern Rivers of NSW. From the coast to the rainforests of the hinterland, the landscape is filled with the plants and animals of this biodiverse region. Wildlife and landscape photography is popular, and spotlighting for nocturnal species provides views of various iconic Australian mammals.
The tour itineraries are flexible, to allow travel at a comfortable pace, and may vary depending on conditions.
Tour extensions may be available, including River cruises, and Whale-watching excursions. Diving is available at Wooli, and Canoeing is available near Gibraltar Range, on Mann River.
2 nights at Wooli River Lodges
Day 1: Visit the coastal forests, Clarence River & Wetlands, and beaches, with seasonal Whale-watching, as well as Dolphins and Seabirds such as Albatross. Marsupials and many birds such as Parrots, Emu, Brolga, Storks.
Day 2: Visit Dorrigo N.P. and the Rainforest Centre. Café lunch. Visit Little Llangothlin Lagoon & Mother of Ducks Lagoon; Café Lunch at Glen Innes; Visit Gibraltar Range N.P & Washpool N.P.
2 nights at Gibraltar Range, optional spotlighting for mammals, resident Koala, Marsupials & Gliders etc.
Day 3: Return to Coffs Harbour via Mann River, Cowans Pond Wetland.
There are rainforests, waterfalls, dry rocky tablelands Eucalypt forest, wetlands & heathland, from sea level to over 1500m at Point Lookout. You’ll get to see some of the ancient World Heritage Rainforests of Gondwana and visit part of the largest river system on the east coast.
Transport provided is a large, comfortable Outback wagon.
Wooli River Lodges, next to Yuragir National Park and coastal habitat.
Gibraltar House Accommodation, in Gibraltar Range National Park. Sleeps four people comfortably.
