This discrete area of WA contains an outstanding richness of wild flowers, animals and history. You'll meet the famous Gary Muir, explore the Stirling Ranges in full bloom, search for Honey Possums, climb amongst the canopy of giant Karri trees and search for the elusive Quokka.

You will be accompanied, with vehicle, by Craig Haslam owner operator of Xplore and Nullabor Traveller. The trip is $3,250 ex Perth. This is INCLUSIVE of all meals, guiding, activities, transport and includes a return flight from Perth to Albany with Regional Express. The tour is designed to keep travel distances small, with no more than about 130km between each of the main destinations.

  • Stay in the Stirling Ranges and enjoy guided walks among the flowering plants, in an area that's one of only 34 global biodiversity hotspots. 
  • Guided by Craig Haslam, in a comfortable vehicle. All accommodation, meals, internal flights (ex Perth) and activities included.  
  • Short drive distances - meaning you can enjoy maximum time outdoors in the environment, seeing and learning about the area. 
  • Entry to the Valley of the Giants to walk among the canopy of giant Karri trees. 
  • A Walpole Wilderness Cruise and evening talk by seventh-generation Australian, Gary Muir, about the fascinating history of this region. 
  • Chance to search for some of the region's elusive mammals including the Honey Possum and Quokka. 


Day 1 (D) Arrive Perth, overnight at the Mercure.

Day 2 (B, L, D) Transfer to Perth domestic to catch a Regional Express flight to Albany. Pick up in Albany and drive (~100km) to Stirling Ranges. Overnight at the Stirling Ranges retreat. 

Day 3 (B, L, D) All day exploring and guided walks at the retreat, learning about the wild flowers and animals that frequent this spectacular region. Overnight at the Stirling Ranges retreat. 

Day 4 (B, L, D) Morning exploring the region. Drive to Cheynes Beach for lunch. Overnight, Cheynes Beach.

Day 5 (B, L, D) Early morning search for Honey Possum. Explore the dunes and forests in the local area in the morning. After lunch, head to Denmark to visit Elephant Rocks. Late afternoon, Valley of the Giants. Dinner, Walpole, meet Gary Muir. Overnight Walpole.  

Day 6 (B, L) Walpole Wilderness Cruise, followed by a leisurely day exploring the local Karri forests and driving back to Albany for lunch, in time to catch the flight to Perth and connect with onward flights that evening.
