Home to Malleefowl, elegantly plumed Regent Parrots and sea eagles, the region extends from the coast to a famous inland river system and desert. Stay at a private nature reserve not far from a famous winery set in a wetland sanctuary. At spectacular riverbank cliffs you’ll dine under the stars and spotlight Southern Hairy-nosed Wombats.

Day 1 Arrive Adelaide and spend the night in the city.
Day 2 You’ll be picked up by our nature guide and driven to Innes National Park on the Yorke Peninsula for spectacular coastal scenery and see Malleefowl, Western (Mallee) Whipbird, White-bellied Sea-eagle and seals. Overnight will be spent in accommodation on the edge of the national park.
Day 3 After a morning in the national park we relocate to Birdlife Australia’s flagship Gluepot Nature Reserve. Murray River wetlands and visiting a spectacular Regent Parrot colony. Overnight is in a luxury room at a newly renovated hotel on the banks of the Murray where we’ll spend a couple of nights.
Day 4 Today your guide will take you through the secluded Gluepot Nature Reserve to see numerous rare and threatened birds and meet three types of kangaroo, including the iconic Red Kangaroo.
Day 5 After a morning eco-cruise on the Murray River wetlands, we’ll head to the boardwalk and lunch at the famous Banrock winery set inside a wetland sanctuary before an afternoon drive to stay at an 80 acre private bush retreat in the Adelaide Hills. Enjoy a sunset dinner overlooking the spectacular crimson cliffs on the banks of the Murray River followed by spotlighting for Southern Hairy-nosed Wombats.
Day 6 This last day will be spent in the Adelaide Hills exploring the retreat’s property and surrounds viewing native birds, Koalas and other iconic wildlife before returning to Adelaide in the evening.
Day 7 Depart from Adelaide.
